Jitendra Sah, chairman of the Mahashivaratri Committee’s Puja Ceremony Committee, said that special preparations are being made for the worship and darshan of this Mahalinga, which is performed by the Nepalese’s revered God Mahadev himself.
The Puja Committee has made special arrangements for the worship and darshan of Baba Jaleshwarnath Mahadev, who sits in water for 24 hours, 16 steps (ladders) below the ground level. .
The temple of Mahadev, Parvati, Ganesh, Hanuman and all the other deities and deities in the temple premises have been painted in different colors this time, and colorful torans and decorative items have been installed all around.
Also, various attractive electric lights have been installed throughout the temple. The work of decorating Baba Jaleshwarnath temple like a bride is going on at a rapid pace.
According to Upendra Pathak, the chief priest of Baba, Jaleshwarnath Mahadev is the real Mahadev. Devotees who come here with a pure mind, speech and deed can have a direct darshan of Baba with the eyes of the mind.
During the Mahashivaratri fair, Jaleshwarnath Mahadev resides in the temple for twenty-four hours. On this day, special pujas are performed after 12 midnight for the darshan and worship of Baba Jaleshwarnath and the temple is also opened to the general public.
Every year, devotees who come from Thathabatha have to wait for a special day to have darshan and worship the Shivalinga of Lord Shiva in this temple.
Since the darshan and worship of Mahadev, who resides in the water about 20 feet below the temple, is possible only after the water inside the temple is thrown out, various arrangements have been made this time keeping in mind the darshan and worship of the devotees. The temple and the music of Shiva devotion have made Jaleshwor resonate with people up to 500 meters away from the temple.
The current priest Kameshwor Pathak says that it is believed that Shiva resides in the temple of Baba Jaleshwornath Mahadev and that the wishes of those who make vows with a pure heart and words will definitely be fulfilled.
A special fair is held in this temple on Mahashivaratri and every Monday of the month of Shrawan (during the Sauni Mela) and on the first Monday of every month, and special worship and direct darshan are held, says local resident Ranjit Chaudhary.
Since ancient times, the Shivling has been worshipped and worshipped only by throwing water at this temple. There is a custom of getting it done. The water inside it cannot be thrown out even with a motor.
Even if people try to throw the water out using a bucket, it fills up again in an instant. Therefore, devotees are invited to have darshan by throwing water repeatedly.
This time too, Chairman Sah said that Nepal Police, Armed Police Force, Nepal Army and local youth working in the district have been mobilized to facilitate the devotees to have darshan and worship on Mahashivaratri in a comfortable manner.
The fame of this Jaleshwornath Mahadev is also in neighboring districts like Mahottari, Dhanusha, Siraha, Sarlahi, Sindhuli, as well as in cities like Patna, Darbhanga, Muzaffarpur, Sitamarhi, Madhubani and others in India.
A large number of devotees come from those places to have darshan and worship of Baba Jaleshwornath Mahadev on the day of Mahashivaratri. .
This year, on the occasion of Mahashivaratri, more than two lakh devotees are expected to visit and worship Baba Jaleshwarnath Mahalinga, said Sah, the chairman of the Jaleshwarnath Mahadev Mahashivaratri Festival.
Gorgeous preparations have also been made for Mahashivaratri puja at Baba Mangalnath located in Sonma Rural Municipality-7, Baba Tuteshwornath located in Bardibas Municipality-5, and Baba Siddheshwornath Mahadev temples located in Bhangaha Municipality-5 in the district.
All four Mahadevs located in the four corners of the district are Jaleshwarnath in the east-south corner, Mangalnath in the west-south corner, Tuteshwornath in the north-west corner, and In the northeast corner, Siddheshwarnath Mahadev Temple is worshipped grandly on Mahashivratri.
