Kathmandu. Nepal Workers and Peasants Party MP Prem Suwal has questioned Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli, saying, “Is the multi-party democracy of the people just a stepping stone to a capitalist government?”
Demanding clarification from Prime Minister Oli, who answered questions raised on policies and programs in the Sunday meeting of the House of Representatives, MP Suwal asked this question. Stating that the country’s public debt is 27 trillion, foreign exchange is 6 trillion, and trade deficit is 15 trillion, he commented that the government’s policies and programs are just rituals.
He asked, “Is this the way to remove people’s disappointment and achieve rapid economic growth?” He objected that no action has been taken against the prime ministers who embezzled the land of Patanjali, Giribandhu Tea Garden, and Bal Mandir.
He said, “The situation of public debt of 27 trillion, non-performing loans of 6 trillion, trade deficit of 15 trillion, and revenue not meeting salaries is the only way to remove the people’s disappointment and achieve rapid economic growth. Is this the goal of a prosperous Nepal and a happy Nepali, to create an aging society after three decades, when 25 percent of the citizens are still stunted due to malnutrition? What action is being taken against the prime ministers who embezzled the land of Patanjali, Giribandhu Tea Garden, and Bal Mandir?”
MP Suwal demanded an answer from the Prime Minister, saying, “When will action be taken against those who have accumulated savings of 4 trillion rupees of cooperative organizations?”
