Kathmandu. CPN (Maoist Center) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal has accused the past kings/maharajas of insulting Nepal internationally by visiting brothels. He said this while addressing a program organized in Kathmandu on Monday.
He said that it is important to explain to the youth how the past kings/maharajas had cheated foreigners? Who committed the rubber band murder and how? He said that everything else can be changed, but the sovereign power, national independence and geographical integrity that has been transferred to the people cannot be changed, and the demonstrations by the monarchists are against the constitution.
He said, ‘The political system, political beliefs can be changed. According to the situation and the wishes of the people. But one thing cannot be changed. National independence and geographical integrity and the sovereign power vested in the people cannot be changed. Sovereign power was previously based on individuals and lineages. The sovereign power vested in the Nepali people cannot be changed. What the so-called monarchists have done now is against the constitution. They have gone towards taking away the sovereign power of the people. They are motivated by the objective of making the people citizens again. It will not be allowed to succeed under any circumstances. We will not let that go back to the past.’
‘We will not tell our children and generation what happened yesterday, why was the Kot festival, the Bhandarkhaal festival held. How were hundreds of nobles murdered. How did the courtiers shrink the map of Nepal, how did they recruit foreigners? How much did the kings and maharajas of yesterday humiliate Nepal internationally by going to brothels? “Just the other day, your kings were insulted in Kolkata. Who was the one who said, ‘Return quickly’? Who committed the palace murder case? This youth should be made aware of this,” he mentioned.
Chairman Dahal said that there was talk of forming a government with the Congress-UML and the CPN (Maoist Center) and said that they had not taken any policy of joining the government. If there was a crisis in the country, they would give ideas for resolving the crisis but would not join this government. He said that no one had any formal talks about joining the government.
Claiming that there had been discussions on issues related to transitional justice, there had been no discussion on forming a government, he said that he had tried to do good and had overthrown the government and formed the current government.
