Prabhu Bank launches ‘BHIM UPI’ service at Muktinath Temple, focuses on cross-border transactions

Mustang. BHIM UPI service has been launched in the premises of Muktinath Temple, a famous religious site in Mustang district. The service was launched today (Friday) under the chief guestship of Nepal Rastra Bank Governor Maha Prasad Adhikari.

With the launch of the said service, Indian citizens can now make offerings, donations, dakshina and other payments to Muktinath Temple by scanning QR codes from their bank accounts through BHIM UPI, the bank has said.

The bank believes that this will provide Indian devotees visiting Muktinath Temple with a simple, secure and easy payment facility through digital means and will further strengthen Nepal-India financial relations.

Also, this service is an important effort to encourage cross-border digital payments, which will take India and Nepal’s financial cooperation to new heights. It is expected to be delivered.

The special ceremony was attended by Nepal Rastra Bank Executive Director Gunakar Bhatta, Nepal Rastra Bank Director Mukti Sapkota, Nepal Rastra Bank Pokhara Provincial Office Chief Deepak Raj Lamichhane, Prabhu Bank Gandaki Province Chief Raju Rana Magar, local administration, temple management committee, religious leaders, high-ranking officials of the bank and other dignitaries.

Nepal Rastra Bank Governor Adhikari mentioned that the launch of the BHIM UPI service will promote the digital payment system and strengthen financial inclusion. Expressing his belief that this technology will be safe, transparent and simple for the devotees, he pointed out the need to conduct various awareness programs to make digital payments accessible to all.

Governor Adhikari said that Nepal Rastra Bank has been prioritizing the “Digital Nepal” campaign and is continuously committed to promoting such latest technologies. He mentioned that the Rastra Bank will take necessary policies and programs towards making digital payment technology accessible throughout Nepal and expanding financial access.

On this occasion, representatives of Prabhu Bank informed that they are continuously advancing in banking technology and that the bank is providing services through 312 branches and 67 extension counters in all 77 districts of the country and has been providing excellent remittance services both at home and abroad.

The Governor, Executive Director, Director, Bank representatives and other dignitaries of Nepal Rastra Bank said that the launch of BHIM UPI service is a significant achievement for the Muktinath region and that this will be another important step towards expanding digital financial services in Nepal.

Now devotees can visit Muktinath The bank has stated that one can experience the convenience of digital payments at the temple.
