Based on information that illegal liquor was being produced on lease from Purushottam Tuladhar’s land in Nakkhu Khola, a police team led by the in-charge of the Bhaisepati Bungmati Police Division searched the premises and found a large quantity of illegal homemade liquor.
During the search conducted on Tuesday, about 100 liters of illegal homemade liquor and more than 1,270 bottles of raw materials were destroyed, informed the in-charge and police inspector of the police division, Shashidhar Sharma, today. .
According to him, the illegal liquor and raw materials seized by the police team have been dug up and buried with the help of JCB. Police Inspector Sharma clarified that since consuming liquor produced from non-edible materials has adverse effects on human health and is an illegal activity, such materials have to be destroyed.
According to him, Rabina Tamang, who has been permanently residing in Kavrepalanchok and is currently involved in the production and sale of homemade liquor in Nakkhu, and others have been warned not to engage in illegal activities. Stating that they are working to ensure peace and security in ‘every village, village and town, and village’, Police Inspector Sharma expressed his commitment to stop activities that cause unrest in the society.
