Dang Chief District Officer Krishna Prasad Lamsal said that the fire that broke out at the industry has not yet been fully brought under control. According to him, seven fire engines are currently extinguishing the fire.
The fire is being extinguished by bringing one fire engine each from Ghorahi, Tulsipur Sub-metropolitan City and Lamahi Municipality in Dang, Bansgadhi Municipality in Bardiya, Kohalpur Municipality in Banke, Shivaraj Municipality in Kapilvastu and Rupandehi.
Principal District Officer Lamsal said that there was a delay in extinguishing the fire because there are many materials used to make the ply. ‘There are many materials for the ply, the fire is burning,’ he said, ‘It seems that it will take more time to extinguish it.’ Although there is a settlement in the vicinity, the risk to that settlement has been averted, said Principal District Officer Lamsal. The fire is estimated to have caused damage worth crores.
However, details of the damage have not yet been received. Security agencies including the Nepal Army, Nepal Police, Armed Police Force, and locals are controlling the fire.
