Kathmandu. Minister for Physical Infrastructure and Transport Devendra Dahal has said that planned development has not been possible due to the failure to change the development model. Minister Dahal said this while inaugurating the 10th Nepal Buildcon International Exhibition that began at Bhrikuti Mandap in Kathmandu on Thursday.
He said that it is necessary to determine priorities to move forward development works. He said that in the context of development projects, priorities should be determined based on population density and consumers. He also said that the construction of roads and paths necessary to transport local products to the cities is a priority for the government to make the country prosperous.
He stated that Nepal is located between two countries with large economies and informed that an environment for easy movement should be created at the border crossings of those countries.
He stated that Nepali citizens have easy access to the border with India and an environment should be created for easy import and export of goods from the border with China. He also claimed that the government is working to end the situation of being dependent on only one country for goods.
The exhibition, which began on Thursday, will run until Falgun 11. There are more than 150 stalls from more than 300 companies from different countries at the exhibition. At the exhibition, construction-related industries, companies, dealers and sub-dealers, and vendors will be able to get information about products related to the construction business.
