Kathmandu. Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba has said that neighboring China’s support for Nepal’s development efforts is commendable.
Inaugurating a photo exhibition organized by the GP Koirala Foundation to mark the 70th anniversary of the establishment of Nepal-China diplomatic relations, he said that the Nepal-China cultural, economic and social partnership is historic and strong.
Expressing gratitude for China’s support in areas including Nepal’s infrastructure development, trade, tourism, cultural and educational exchanges, climate change and environmental cooperation, President Deuba expressed confidence that Chinese support would further increase in the coming days.
‘The photo exhibition will further strengthen cooperation with China and take people-to-people relations to a new height’ “I express my confidence that it will bring about a breakthrough in the bilateral relations between China and Nepal,” he said. “In addition to deepening Nepal-China cultural and educational relations, it will also awaken a sense of mutual understanding and cooperation between the people of the two countries.”
Former Prime Minister Deuba stated that Nepal has always been committed to the One-China policy and made it clear that no anti-China activities will be allowed on Nepali soil.
Congress leader Dr. Shekhar Koirala stated that China’s support in Nepal’s development efforts is commendable and said that Nepal-China friendly relations are exemplary. Stating that Nepal has consistently stood in favor of the One China policy, he said that Nepal has been giving high importance to China’s interests as a neighbor.
Chinese Ambassador to Nepal Chen Song said that China-Nepal relations are moving forward on the basis of mutual cooperation and friendship. Stating that Nepal and China have been cooperating in various fields including economic and trade, he said that bilateral relations are further deepening due to high-level visits from both countries.
Sujata Koirala, Chairperson of GP Koirala Foundation and Nepali Congress leader, said that a photo exhibition was organized to mark the 70th anniversary of Nepal-China diplomatic relations.
Noting that photos related to political, cultural and people-to-people exchanges are on display in the exhibition, she expressed confidence that the exhibition will further strengthen relations between Nepal and China.
Historical moments from seven decades of Nepal-China diplomatic relations have been displayed in the exhibition. The visit and cultural exchange of the head of state, close people-to-people ties and trust are presented through the exhibition. RSS
