Phone calls from a new number and mail from a new ‘ID’? Be careful! You might be homeless.

Kathmandu. Are you getting calls from a new number? Or are you getting tempting messages from a new email ID? If so, be careful!

Do not trust messages and conversations from such emails or numbers. They can even make you homeless. Nepal Police, Cyber Bureau Spokesperson, Superintendent of Police Deepak Raj Awasthi urges people not to pick up the phone and not to believe or respond to such emails.

He urged people to be especially careful in this regard as people are being cheated when they rely on and respond to messages from unknown people and unknown emails.

Superintendent of Police Awasthi said that recently, complaints have been received at the Nepal Police Headquarters, Cyber Bureau, regarding various individuals receiving warning emails using the names and ranks of specialized offices of the Nepal Police, including the Cyber Bureau, and high-ranking officials of the Nepal Police. The bureau has also drawn serious attention to this matter.

He said He said, ‘Since such emails allegedly sent from the Nepal Police Cyber Bureau and other police offices are fake, all the dignitaries are kindly requested not to believe such emails and not to respond to them.’

Necessary investigation is being carried out regarding such emails and if there is any doubt, everyone is requested to inform the contact numbers and email on the bureau’s official website cyberburau.nepalpolice.gov.np.

The bureau has also issued a public notice requesting people to be aware of such activities and to inform the nearest police station if they have any doubts.
