Petroleum products worth Rs 155 billion imported from Birgunj border in 10 months

Birgunj (Parsa). Petroleum products worth Rs 155.94 billion have been imported through Birgunj border point in the 10 months of the current fiscal year.

Diesel, petrol, liquefied petroleum gas (LPG), aviation turbine fuel (ATF) and kerosene have been imported. The overall import of petroleum products declined by Rs 1.35 billion or 0.86 percent in the current fiscal year as compared to the same period last year.

The overall revenue from petroleum products has increased significantly after the import of petroleum products declined in the 10 months of the current fiscal year as compared to the 10 months of the last fiscal year. Deepak Lamichhane, chief customs administrator at Birgunj Customs Office, said that the revenue collection has increased despite the decrease in import of petroleum products in the current fiscal year.

In the last 10 months of the current fiscal year, the office has collected Rs 64.5 billion in revenue from the import of five types of petroleum products. In the same period of the last fiscal year, revenue of Rs 58.48 billion was collected from the import of petroleum products. Compared to 10 months of the last fiscal year, the revenue collected from petroleum products in the same period of the current fiscal year is 10. It has increased by 31 percent. According to birgunj customs office, 9297 kilolitres of diesel worth Rs 79.52 billion has been imported till mid-April of the current fiscal year.

In the same period of the last fiscal year, 813,846 kilolitres of diesel worth Rs 83.47 billion was imported. According to the office, the office collected Rs 35.70 billion revenue from diesel imports in the current fiscal year as compared to Rs 32.72 billion in the same period last fiscal year.

In the 10 months of the current fiscal year, 367,344 kilolitres of petrol worth Rs 31.71 billion has been imported. In the last 10 months of the current fiscal year, 326,387 kilolitres of petrol worth Rs 32.6billion was imported. The office has collected Rs 20.71 billion revenue from petrol imports in the 10 months of the current fiscal year as compared to Rs 18.7 billion in the same period last fiscal year. A total of Rs 264.1million worth of LPG gas worth Rs 30.28 billion has been imported through this transit point in the 10 months of the current fiscal year.

In the same period of the last fiscal year, 235.545 million kilograms of LPG gas worth Rs 25.19 billion was imported. The office has collected Rs 5.67 billion in revenue from lpg imports in the 10 months of the current fiscal year, compared to Rs 4.7 billion from LPG gas imports in the same period last fiscal year. A total of 153,192 kilolitres of ATF worth Rs 13.88 billion has been imported through Birgunj border point in the last 10 months of the current fiscal year. In the same period of the last fiscal year, 145,336 kilolitres of ATF worth Rs 15.47 billion was imported. The office has collected Rs 2.17 billion in revenue from atf imports in the 10 months of the current fiscal year. It had collected Rs 2.22 billion in the same period of the previous fiscal year.

A total of 6,130 kilolitres of kerosene worth Rs 550 million has been imported through this transit point in the last 10 months of the current fiscal year. In the same period last fiscal year, 5,360 kilolitres of kerosene worth Rs 560 million was imported. The office collected Rs 150 million revenue from kerosene imports in the 10 months of the current fiscal year and Rs 150 million in the same period of the previous fiscal year.
