Kathmandu. It will strengthen the institutional capacity of the Securities Board to protect the investment and interests of citizens in the capital market. Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Bishnu Prasad Poudel, in his budget speech for the fiscal year 2082/83 BS, said institutional capacity would be enhanced by restructuring the Nepal Stock Exchange.
With the announcement of restructuring of NEPSE from the budget, the process of issuing licenses of the new stock exchange has automatically ended. The second financial sector reform strategy will be implemented. Investment companies and other institutional investors listed on the securities market will be facilitated to invest in self-capital, bonds and other securities of the national priority industry.
Legal provisions will be made so that employees provident fund, citizen investment fund and social security fund can invest in private equity and venture capital. The second market transaction of government bonds will be started. Arrangements will be made to allow non-resident Nepalis to trade in the second market.
