Kathmandu. Parliament session has been disrupted after the opposition raised slogans demanding the home minister’s resignation over the visit visa issue.
CpN (Maoist Centre) leader and former Finance Minister Barshaman Pun had initially said that parliament would not be allowed to function until the home minister’s resignation. Rastriya Prajatantra Party (NCP) lawmaker Shishir Khanal announced that parliament would not be allowed to function until the home minister’s resignation and the formation of a parliamentary inquiry committee. The House of Representatives was adjourned for 30 minutes after lawmakers from the CpN (Maoist Centre) and the Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RSP) raised slogans saying they would not allow parliament to function without the resignation of the Home Minister.
They demanded that the Home Minister should resign and a parliamentary committee should be formed to investigate the matter in view of the possibility of destruction of evidence as the opposition has to investigate the home minister.
