Kathmandu. Foreign investment proposals worth more than Rs 44.66 billion have been received in the first 8 months of the current fiscal year. This is according to the data provided by the Department of Industries up to mid-Falgun of the current fiscal year.
According to the department, investment commitments worth that amount have been received for 427 industries through the automatic route, paper process and share purchase and membership agreements during the same period of the current fiscal year.
According to the department, investment commitments worth Rs 41.90 billion 3.4 million have been received for 233 projects through the automatic route during that period. During the same period of the current fiscal year, an investment commitment of Rs 2.75 billion 6.8 million has been received for 199 industries.
According to the department, during this period, an investment commitment of Rs 1.94 billion 50 million 41 thousand has been received through 32 projects for Share Purchase Agreement (SPA) and Share Subscription (SSA), while 46 projects for Technology Transfer Agreement (TTA) have been approved.
Among the industries registered during this period, there are 415 small industries, four large industries and eight medium industries. The proposed industry will provide employment to 10,726 people.
By mid-February, 154 industries in the information technology sector, 30 in the manufacturing sector, 54 in the service sector, and 180 in the tourism sector have been registered. Similarly, 7 industries in agriculture have been registered during the same period, while 1 investment has been made in the infrastructure and hydropower sectors, and zero in the mineral sector.
Among the proposed industries, the tourism sector has received the highest investment proposal. During this period, 17.9 billion 75.9 million 90 thousand rupees have been proposed for investment in 180 projects in the tourism sector.
Similarly, 22.36 billion 37 million rupees have been proposed for 54 projects in the service sector, and 2.36 billion rupees have been proposed for 30 production-oriented projects.
During that period, investors have received 1.1 billion 19 thousand rupees through royalty, 9.2 million 70 thousand US dollars, 36 million 62 million in Indian rupees, and 61 thousand 431 rupees in euros, according to the department’s data. .
