Over 11,000 metric tons of oil produced from oilseed farming in Bara

Bara. Farmers here have produced 11,200 metric tons of oil by cultivating oilseeds. Farmers have cultivated oilseeds in an area of 10,000 hectares and produced oilseeds at the rate of 101 metric tons per hectare, informed Rajnarayan Prasad Sah, head of the district-based Agricultural Knowledge Center.

The center’s economist Ganesh Mahara said that since farmers have been expanding oilseed cultivation here recently, production is also increasing. According to him, last year, 11,220 metric tons of oilseeds were produced at a rate of 1.1 metric tons per hectare, cultivated in an area of 10,200 hectares.

Chief Sah informed that oilseeds were cultivated in an area of 10,300 hectares in the financial year 2079/80, 10,200 hectares in the financial year 2080/81, and 10,000 hectares in the financial year 2081/82.
