Kathmandu. The opposition parties are set to reject the ordinance brought by the government. The decision was taken at a meeting of the opposition parties held at the parliamentary party office of the main opposition party, the CPN (Maoist Centre), on Thursday.
Talking to media persons after the meeting, (Maoist Centre) Chief Whip Hitraj Pandey said that seven parties participated in the meeting and the meeting unanimously decided to raise issues of public concern in the parliament session to be held from Friday.
He informed that the meeting said that the ordinance was brought by the government through the wrong method and process and it was decided to reject it. According to him, the opposition parties have concluded that it is wrong to bring an ordinance at the same time as convening the parliament.
Chief Whip Pandey said that the government has concluded that it is inappropriate to pass laws through ordinances. He informed that the House should be made a place to voice the voices of the people in a strong manner. He warned that if necessary, they will even prepare for street protests against the government.
