Kathmandu. Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Bishnu Poudel has said that he does not understand the opposition’s opposition to the ordinance. He said this while responding to a question raised by the opposition on the Ordinance, 2081, made to amend the Privatization Act in the National Assembly meeting on Thursday.
He strongly opposed the opposition, saying that there would be no crony capitalism if the Privatization Act were changed and the Government Management Act in Public Enterprises was made. He urged the opposition to oppose based on facts and logic. He accused the opposition of protesting for the sake of protesting instead of discussing constructively.
Finance Minister Poudel informed that the government would advance the three-pillar economic policy of public, private and cooperative in a coordinated manner. He said that since socialism is the destination of the country, the government would be committed to it with heart, word and deed.
After the opposition expressed that the government should be given a lease, Finance Minister Poudel urged them not to use words that would tarnish the reputation of the nation. He said that such expressions would play a role in damaging the psychology of the citizens.
