Kathmandu. The dream of more than half a dozen student leaders to become the president of the ANNFSU, the sister organization of the CPN(UML), has been dashed with the imposition of the age limit of 32 years for leadership.
According to the wishes of CPN-UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli and General Secretary Shankar Pokharel, the age limit of 32 years has been imposed in the ANNFSU.
Addressing the inaugural ceremony of the 24th General Assembly of the ANNFSU, Oli advocated for 32-year-old right and 70-year-old wrong.
Inaugurating the general convention of ANNFSU, Oli said, “The issue of age limit of 70 years has failed. Now that I am 74 years old, didn’t it fail to retire at 70? Age, health does not support, whether there is efficiency or not is the main thing. China had made a rule that only twice the president could be president, after seeing the need for xi jingping’s leadership, the Chinese Communist Party had 65, now it has reached 72, Xi Jingping. ’
He also stressed the need to make activity, thinking and health based on age rather than age.
Oli, who removed the age limit in the party and made himself the leader, has imposed an age limit of 32 years in the ANNFSU.
