Bangkok. Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli is addressing the 6th Summit of the Bay of Bengal Initiative for Multi-Sectoral Technical and Economic Cooperation (BIMSTEC) today. The heads of government of the participating member countries are scheduled to address the summit.
The first agenda of the summit is to sign the ‘BIMSTEC Maritime Transport Cooperation’. The agendas will be presented after the welcoming address by the Prime Minister of the host country, Thailand, Peth Thong Than Shinawatra. After that, the Prime Ministers (leaders of delegations) of Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Myanmar, Nepal and Sri Lanka will address. After the address, the agenda will be passed, and the host country’s Prime Minister Shinawatra is scheduled to hold a press conference.
After the lunch at the conference, a bilateral meeting will be held between Prime Minister Oli and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi at 4 pm local time. All these programs will be held at Hotel Sadgrila in Bangkok. Prime Minister Oli has participated in the BIMSTEC Summit after completing his first official visit to Thailand.
After the BIMSTEC Summit, Prime Minister Oli will participate in a reception organized by the Nepali Embassy in Thailand this evening. Prime Minister Oli’s visiting delegation includes First Lady Radhika Shakya, Foreign Minister Dr. Arju Rana Deuba, Chief Advisor to the Prime Minister Bishnu Prasad Rimal, Economic Development Advisor Dr. Yubaraj Khatiwada, Chief Secretary Ek Narayan Aryal, Secretary to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Amrit Bahadur Rai, among others.
