Kathmandu. Kathmandu: Nepali Congress (NC) Chief Whip Shyam Kumar Ghimire has said that it was against democracy to block the parliament by demanding the resignation of the Home Minister for calling an employee by the CIAA.
Talking to media persons at the Parliament House premises on Wednesday, Whip Ghimire said it was wrong to demand the resignation of the Home Minister when it was not even known why the CIAA had summoned the employees.
He questioned dahal’s resignation when the chief secretary of the Pushpa Kamal Dahal-led government was investigated and suspended. Stating that neither the summoned employees have been detained nor prosecuted in any case or taken statements, he said that demanding the resignation of the Home Minister at the same time is a conspiracy to fail the government.
“They were adamant that parliament could not function until the home minister resigned,” he said. What we said is that when someone is questioned, no matter how criminal they are to explain the question. Moreover, the question of the Home Minister has not been raised so far. No institution has raised questions. At present, i don’t even know why an employee has been called by the CIAA. The CIAA has clarified why he has not been detained or why he was summoned. And after 10 days, he has been sent to come again. In such a situation, the way parliament is being blocked by demanding the sudden resignation of the Home Minister. This is totally against parliamentary practice. We understand that this is against parliamentary democracy. ‘
He made it clear that if the CIAA questions anyone in the process of investigation, the minister will have to reply every day if he has to resign and reply.
