Kathmandu. Ganesh Karki, President of Independent Power Producers Association of Nepal (IPPAN), has said that load shedding will start again in Nepal. Speaking at a press conference today (Sunday), he said that if it takes a long time to formulate a plan in the country, load shedding will start again in Nepal.
He said that if it takes a long time to formulate a plan in Nepal and there are similar obstacles, 19736 MW projects will be disrupted, claiming that due to this, not only Nepal’s dream of selling electricity will be shattered, but load shedding will also occur in Nepal.
Says that there are laws that hinder Nepal’s development, he said, “One person says to do something, but the law of the forest stops it. We are tired.” Due to the wrong law and irresponsible decisions, more than 19,000 megawatt projects are not being built in Nepal.’
Chairman Karki said that the 28,500 megawatt project that the country has taken forward is on the way to being built, but due to the forest law, this goal is not on the way to being fulfilled if the transmission line is not built. This is causing great damage to the nation. We have reached a point where we cannot invest. He said that if the state government and the concerned bodies do not take appropriate decisions in this regard, hydropower, which is the benchmark for Nepal’s progress, will not be built.
