Kathmandu. Minister for Health and Population Pradeep Poudel has said that the government will expand the citizen health service to all 753 municipalities.

Inaugurating the services of the National Ayurveda Panchakarma and Yoga Service Center, Budhanilkantha, Kathmandu on Friday, Health Minister Poudel said that the government is moving forward as per the plan to expand the citizen health service to all 753 municipalities.

He said that the government is trying to develop the Ayurveda sector in a comprehensive manner and pledged to make arrangements in the budget of the coming fiscal year to extend the citizen health service to all municipalities. He mentioned that Ayurveda is the original system of Nepal as well as a way of life. He said that Ayurveda is the culture and civilization of Nepal and Nepal should become the hub of the Ayurveda sector.

Minister Poudel emphasized that the world should be able to understand that Ayurveda originated in Nepal.

Minister Poudel said, ‘What was the number of people with cancer 5 years ago and what is it today? Today, the number of women dying from cervical cancer is 4 a day. This was not the case 15 years ago. The number of people with autism has increased three times today compared to 5 years ago. If the number of patients continues to increase like this, it will be very difficult for us to provide treatment services. The burden will increase beyond what the state can bear. Therefore, we should not increase the number of patients. How can we find a way to prevent them from getting sick? Under that, these works are being done.’

‘We are trying to find out what measures can be adopted to prevent healthy Nepalis or Nepalis from getting diseases. We have conducted a screening program extensively. We are trying to develop the Ayurveda sector extensively. Our citizen health service is reaching 753 municipalities. In this budget, we are making arrangements to extend citizen health service to all municipalities. We are trying to ensure everyone’s access to it. All Nepalis need to know about the Ayurveda treatment system, the Ayurveda health treatment system. Because this is our original system. This is our way of life. This is also our culture and civilization. Nepal should have become a hub for Ayurveda. “The word that it originated in Nepal should have been spread throughout the world,” he said.

Minister Poudel said that the government is researching ways to prevent people from getting sick and is launching a campaign to create healthy Nepalis.
