Kathmandu. Technology to treat cancer with radiation therapy has been introduced at Nobel Medical College. This technology with state-of-the-art facilities has been introduced for the first time in Nepal.
While such technology is available only in 6 places in Asia, MP Dr. Sunil Sharma has brought it into operation for the first time at his own hospital, Nobel Medical College, Biratnagar. Dr. Sharma has established a new dimension in quality cancer treatment with excellent technology and started radiation therapy services.
Dr. Sharma has started easy cancer treatment services in Nepal by investing Rs 3.4 billion in a new building, arranging skilled manpower with state-of-the-art technology. MP Dr. Sharma has been continuously working on various projects ranging from providing free health care to poor families to purchasing state-of-the-art health equipment.
In this regard, among the hospitals in South Asia, the radiation therapy device ‘EDGE’ of the American-made Varian Company, which is installed in only 6 places, including 1 in Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital in Mumbai, India, 3 in Max Hospital, and 2 in Medanta in New Delhi, is available only at Nobel Medical College in Biratnagar in Nepal.
The hospital believes that with its installation at Nobel Medical College for the first time in Nepal, cancer treatment will become easier for the common citizen.
The 6D couch, hyperthermia, and other features of this device are available in Nepal. ARC, HD MIC, SR S, and SB RT can eliminate cancer cells without surgery. Technologies like IG RT, IM RT, VM AT have the ability to target only cancer cells without damaging normal cells.
Brachytherapy works by painlessly reaching inside the body with the help of a device and destroying cancer cells. In addition, a 4D RTCT city scan machine makes radiation therapy more effective.
Nobel has daily OPD, laboratory tests, X-ray, city scan, MRI, ultrasound, day care, chemotherapy, surgery, inpatient treatment, radiation therapy, and other services for cancer treatment. Nobel Medical College belongs to Nepali Congress youth leader MP Dr. Sunil Sharma.
