NIC Asia Bank asks bank to update PAN number in account

Kathmandu. NIC Asia Bank has asked customers to update permanent account number (PAN) in their accounts. The bank has requested that the details of tax deducted from the bank’s customers’ accounts should be included in the permanent account number system as per the Income Tax Act 2058 BS.

The bank can update its PAN as soon as possible by tabing on the bank’s portal panupdate.nicasiabank.com or the ‘PAN Update’ option on the mobile banking app ‘NIC Asia Mo Bank’.

In addition, according to the bank, customers will be able to update the PAN in their account from any branch office of this bank.

According to the bank, PAN is essential for showing the tax deducted from the bank as interest payment to the depositors in the e-TDS record. After updating the PAN, the details of their tax deduction will be entered in the e-TDS pan, so the income tax system automatically matches the details of tax deduction in Schedule 10.

The bank believes that this will make it easier for customers to get tax deduction certificates and tax paid certificates and also end the situation of going to the bank to get the certificate.

The bank will not be responsible in case the interest tax is not paid on e-TDS due to non-updating of PAN by the customers and if the interest tax has to be further adjusted in that province.
