Kathmandu. Instant messaging app WhatsApp is soon developing a new feature that will allow Android users to share ‘motion photos’ in individual chats, groups and channels. Motion photos are a media format that captures a brief moment of motion, both before and after a still image is taken. Unlike traditional photos, motion photos include a few seconds of video and audio.
According to ‘WabbitInfo’, WhatsApp is aiming to expand the app’s media-sharing capabilities for motion photos. A new button dedicated to Motion Photos will appear when opening the photo and video gallery on WhatsApp, giving users the option to send a still or moving version of the image.
This feature is particularly popular on some mobile devices, as it bridges the gap between still photos and videos by adding a touch of motion to still photos. The Motion Photo feature is commonly available on various smartphones, such as the Samsung Galaxy.
While the feature is currently available on iOS for iPhones, the Motion Photo-sharing feature on WhatsApp for Android is still under development.
