Kathmandu. In the seven months of the current fiscal year, those going abroad for higher education have taken a large amount of money abroad. According to the details made public by the Nepal Rastra Bank, the expenditure on education has reached 64.15 billion rupees.
Travel expenditure under the service account has increased by 10.6 percent to 115.88 billion rupees. Out of this, education expenditure is 64.15 billion rupees. According to the bank, in the same period of the previous year, travel expenditure was 104.75 billion rupees, while education expenditure was 66.64 billion rupees.
During that period, net service income has been in deficit by 50.22 billion rupees. Net service income was in deficit by Rs 36.38 billion during the same period of the previous year.
In the review period, tourism income under the service account increased by 7.7 percent to Rs 49.21 billion. Such income was Rs 45.68 billion during the same period of the previous year. RSS
