Nepalis can invest abroad, investment board approves

Kathmandu. The government has opened the way for Nepali citizens to invest abroad. Finance Minister Bishnu Prasad Poudel has announced in his budget statement for the upcoming fiscal year that the way has been opened for Nepali citizens to invest abroad through certain methods.

Nepali citizens will have to get approval from the Investment Board Nepal to invest abroad. Until now, Nepalis were banned from investing abroad. Similarly, the budget has also announced that Nepali citizens will be able to take sweat shares by giving technology, knowledge ships to foreign companies or industries.
