Kathmandu. CPN (UML) MP Indira Devi Gautam has said that Nepali society is currently going through a transitional period. Speaking at the National Assembly meeting on Sunday, MP Gautam said this.

She said that the public is becoming aware that nothing has happened since the expected achievements were not made during the transitional period. She said that every discussion and decision made in Parliament has great importance in national politics and that everyone needs to be aware.

She said that the national aspiration of ‘Prosperous Nepal, Happy Nepali’ cannot be fulfilled while the MPs themselves are involved in accusations and counter-accusations. She said that it is important for everyone to be aware of this as the false information and news spread among the general public for short-term gains will only create despair.

She said, ‘Every discussion and decision made in Parliament has great importance in national politics. The people look forward to discussions and decisions on issues that are directly related to the living standards of the people with great hope and trust. Therefore, our meetings should be conducted in a way that does not create confusion among the people, does not tarnish national honor and patriotism, and does not sow despair among the people. As we continue to engage in accusations and counter-accusations, our goal of a prosperous Nepal, happy Nepalis may be lost.’

‘The false illusions and news spread among the general public for short-term gains only create despair. It does not benefit anyone in the long term. Let us all be aware of this. Nepali society is currently going through a transitional period. During the transitional period, we have high expectations. Since there is no achievement according to that, the narrative is being established that nothing has happened. We have not made as much progress as we thought and wanted. But there have been good improvements in some areas,’ she said.

She said that development work has not accelerated as expected by the people due to lack of coordination among federal ministries.
