Agency. Former Italian captain and goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon has said that he wants to see Nepal play in the Asian Cup, World Cup and other major world football tournaments.
At a press conference organized at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Kathmandu on Sunday, Buffon said that Nepal should invest in infrastructure and other things to play major world football tournaments. He also said that if people encourage people to play football with big goals, it will be achieved one day. Buffon is the goalkeeper of the 2006 World Cup-winning Italy. Buffon arrived in Nepal on Sunday.
He recalled that even when he was young, the Nepalese flag seemed new and unusual, and said that his dream of coming to Nepal, the country of the Himalayas, had come true. He also thanked the organizers for this opportunity, stating that he was very excited and happy to come to Nepal. He came to Nepal for the final of the KP Oli Cup.
He said that today is a memorable day for him and his wife. He shared his experience that his fitness has improved because he has always loved his work and worked hard every day to be his best. Although he is now coming for the final of the KP Oli Cup, he wants to come to Nepal again. Goalkeeper Buffon plans to travel outside the country and visit religious places here the next time he comes to Nepal for a long time.
