Kathmandu. Minister for Labor, Employment and Social Security Sharat Singh Bhandari has said that Nepal should follow Korean skills, technology and experience. Speaking at a public program on We App in Lalitpur on Thursday, he said that Korea has made a leap in a short time and Nepali workers have also contributed to it.

According to him, Nepalis are working in various countries including Korea. Stating that Nepalis have made significant contributions to the economic development of those countries, Minister for Labor Bhandari said that those countries should appreciate the contribution of Nepalis.

According to him, Nepali workers should also mobilize foreign skills, capital and experience after returning to Nepal and work to make the nation prosperous.

Labor Minister Bhandari said, ‘Our workers are working by shedding their blood and sweat.’ But because of that work, their country is experiencing economic progress, prosperity and development. We are also partners in that development. For that reason, our workers should be respected. There should be arrangements for safe immigration. They should be given services, facilities and wages like the citizens of that country.’

According to him, Nepali workers abroad should not be viewed differently. Those countries should provide services and facilities like their citizens. According to Bhandari, the government is currently signing bilateral labor agreements with various countries. Stating that the government is also raising the issue of equal treatment in international forums, he said that the right of Nepalis to work safely will be ensured.

According to him, the structure of the Ministry of Labor, Employment and Social Security was also related to foreign employment in the past. He said that it is now being restructured and moving forward.
