Kathmandu. IME Pay and Khalti, nepal’s first digital wallet among nepal rastra bank licensed payment service providers, have been given the final approval letter for merger. This is the first time in the history of Nepal that two large digital wallets are going to be integrated together.
If you look at the history of digital transactions in Nepal, although it is not very long, it is also a proof that its use has been rapid. After the integrated transaction of IME Pay and Khalti, the company will be officially named IME Khalti Limited. Its registered office will be located at Panipokhari, Kathmandu.
After the joint transaction, the official name of the app will be Khalti. With large paid-up capital and more than five million official users, Khalti app has been established as the largest and strongest digital wallet in Nepal. In addition, the company believes that the payment service provider sector will accelerate the expansion of access to the rural areas of Nepal.
With the final approval for integrated transactions from The Nepal Rastra Bank, the integration of users will continue rapidly for the next three months. For this, both the apps, IME Pay and Khalti will remain in operation as usual. Both wallet users’ money and royalty points, Khalti Point and IME Pay Reward Points will also be integrated at the specified time.
Users in both Khalti and IME Pay will be integrated into the app on a single tap, while those in IME Pay will be included in Khalti with the approval of users only. In the case of new users, users will be able to enter the new feature by downloading the Khalti app directly and users who are using the IME Pay app will also now be able to use the service facility from the Khalti app itself.
Although the name of the app is Khalti after the joint transaction, all the features in IME Pay will be included there. So far, customers on IME Pay will also be able to join the Khalti app in one tap. The balance and reward points in IME Pay will be easily transferred to Khalti. With this work, khalti app is believed to be established as an easy and convenient digital platform.
After the joint transaction, the company believes that this digital payment system will not only be widely used in the coming days but will also remain the most trusted payment system. Ime Pay and Khalti are confident that the joint venture between IME Pay and Khalti will prove to be a milestone in nepal’s digital sector in the present time when digital payments are gradually becoming a part of daily life.
Khalti Wallet will provide users with a new experience in the fintech sector in the coming days. Through the app, users will be able to easily receive remittances sent from anywhere in the world in the wallet, open a bank account through the app, get visa cards, and in the future, access to loans and other facilities will also be expanded in the Khalti app. In this way, the company believes that the Khalti app will provide new and strong direction to the fintech system.
