Kathmandu. Minister for Women, Children and Senior Citizens Nawal Kishore Sah Sudi has said that Nepal is committed to protecting women’s rights and empowering them.
Minister Sudi, who is currently in New York leading the Nepali delegation to participate in the 69th session of the United Nations Commission on the Status of Women, made the commitment at a ministerial roundtable meeting organized at the United Nations Headquarters on Wednesday.
He stated that Nepal is fully committed to providing opportunities to women at all levels of the state and eliminating violence against them, adding that the legal and policy framework has been strengthened for that.
According to the Permanent Mission of Nepal to the United Nations in New York, Minister Sudi said that the Government of Nepal is committed to national and He said that he is always ready to implement international commitments, ensuring women’s equality and development, as well as giving them high priority in areas such as political rights, governance, education, employment, health, etc.
He reiterated Nepal’s strong commitment to promoting gender equality and women’s empowerment, as well as many positive provisions for women in the constitution.
