Nepal-India relations also have good political relations: Deputy Prime Minister Singh

Kathmandu. Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Urban Development Prakash Man Singh has said that Nepal-India relations are also good politically. Speaking at a program organized in Kathmandu on Friday, he said that Nepal and India have deep ties not only culturally but also politically.

The founding leaders of the Nepali Congress, BP Koirala, Krishna Prasad Bhattarai to Ganeshman Singh, said that political relations between Nepal and India are important as they had to stay in India during Nepal’s democratic movement.

He said that the relations between Nepal and India have become even stronger from the religious and cultural aspects, adding that relations have also expanded because Nepal and India are the most Hindu countries in the world, and that relations between Nepal and India have also reached a high level due to Buddhism.

Deputy Prime Minister Singh said, “Our neighboring country, India, is especially Not only from the religious and cultural aspects, but also from the political sphere, as you all understand. Now, since the majority of Nepal and India are Hindus, Gautam Buddha was born in Lumbini, not only of Hindus but also of Buddhism. Later, after gaining enlightenment, he went from Gaya to Sarnath to give sermons, so Buddhism is also important in terms of Nepal and India’s religions, and Hinduism and Buddhism are equally important. Our marriages have also taken place between India and Nepal. The founding leaders of the Nepali Congress, from BP Koirala to Krishna Prasad Bhattarai to Ganeshman Singh, also went to India for the democratic movement in Nepal.’

Deputy Prime Minister Singh said that Banaras has played an important role in the field of education for the expansion of relations between Nepal and India, and mentioned that political leaders also stay in India for democratic movements.
