Chairman Agrawal urged Ambassador Bass to introduce Israeli agriculture and information technology to Nepal. Chairman Agrawal said, “The war in Israel has just ended and peace has been established.” Chairman Agrawal urged Ambassador Bass to continue the government’s study-and-earn agriculture program, to provide employment to Nepalis who go to Israel as domestic workers, and to provide employment to Nepali workers in the hospitality construction sector.

Chairman Agrawal also urged Israeli investment in Nepal’s hydropower, tourism, and hotel sectors. Chairman Agrawal said that since the recently amended laws in Nepal have made the investment environment easier, investment opportunities should be sought between Nepal Chamber and Israeli businessmen through B2B channels.

Executive Chairman of the Chamber, Rajendra Malla, said that an investment environment should be created between Israel and Nepal in the IT sector, adding that Nepal’s manpower is cheaper and geographically suitable for information technology businesses compared to other countries.

During his meeting with the chamber officials, Ambassador Bass expressed his happiness at being able to collaborate in a country like Nepal. The Israeli government said it was ready to sign an agreement with Nepal to take in domestic workers, agricultural workers and workers from other sectors.

He said that Nepal should take advantage of Israel’s minimum wage of 1,600 US dollars. Ambassador Bass said that he would facilitate meetings and discussions between investors from both countries.
