Kathmandu. An international-level business summit is to be held in Kathmandu under the coordination of the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Supplies and organized by the Nepal Chamber of Commerce and Nepal Business Institute (NBI). The second edition of the Nepal Business Summit is to be held on Baisakh 7 with the slogan of sustainable and self-reliant economy, the organizer Nepal Chamber of Commerce has announced.
The first edition of the summit was also held in Kathmandu with a significant presence of personalities related to the entire economy, including industry and business. Bishal Gaire, Executive Chairman of NBI and Coordinator of the Conference Organizing Committee, informed that more than 500 people, including high-ranking political and administrative officials of the federal government, Chief Ministers of provinces, heads of local bodies, domestic and foreign experts, economists, experts in the banking sector, representatives of donor agencies, leaders of leading private sector organizations, chairmen, directors and high-ranking officials of banks and financial institutions, distinguished industrialists and businessmen, youth and women working in innovative sectors, youth involved in IT and digital technology, entrepreneurial human resources who have returned from foreign employment, and students studying in higher education, will participate in the summit.
The summit is organized with the objective of helping to improve the country’s economy by conducting intensive discussions, debates and interactions among government officials at the policy-making level, representatives of industry-business-related associations/institutions, industrial houses, academic figures, and youth and women entrepreneurs. Coordinator Gaire has clarified.
According to him, the report with the recommendations obtained from the summit to be held in collaboration with the Nepal Chamber of Commerce, an established organization directly concerned with business, will be submitted to the governments of all three levels and the implementation of the recommendations will be continuously monitored.
Nepal Chamber of Commerce President Kamlesh Agrawal clarified that with the aim of making the entire private sector affected by the economic recession in the national and international regions enthusiastic and dynamic, the urgent problems and solutions seen in the economic, banking, industry, business, information technology, agriculture and other business sectors will be discussed and interacted with, and the recommendations obtained through the summit will be submitted to the concerned government bodies for implementation. .
Gaire, Executive Chairman of NBI and Coordinator of the Conference Organizing Committee, has expressed the view that the summit will become a starting point for sustainable and broad-based economic development, including expansion of investment in areas such as industrialization, agriculture, tourism, hydropower, forest products, technology, upgrading of small and medium enterprises, self-entrepreneurship and startup businesses, by creating a dynamic bridge between the two large economies of neighboring countries, China and India, encouraging domestic investment and attracting foreign investment through sustainable banking development.
