Kathmandu: There is confusion in the Democratic Lawyers Association (DLA) in the selection of candidates for the central convention of the Nepal Bar Association. The DLA, which is close to the Congress, and the Progressive Lawyers Association (UML) close to the UML are preparing for an alliance, and the DLA has been given the chairmanship.
However, instead of selecting the names of the candidates, the DLA selection committee has been accused of inviting the interference of the Congress. Since the DLA is a friendly organization of the Congress, the selection of candidates was done by the committee decided by the organization until now.
However, the DLA leadership has not been able to decide on the names of the aspirants Yadunath Khanal, Vijay Mishra and Yogendra Chhetri this time, the Congress leadership has intervened. Congress has given Anand Dhungana the responsibility of distributing bar tickets.
While the opposition alliance and independent candidates are supporting Raman Shrestha, the question has arisen whether the DLA is trying to select a popular candidate among the voters, even though the party leadership is trying to interfere and select a pocket candidate.
As the Congress tries to select candidates without holding any dialogue between the aspirants, this has led to many speculations within the DLA about the results.
