Kathmandu. Around 1.2 trillion rupees in remittances have been received by the end of the current fiscal year, as of mid-Baisakh. According to the data published by the National Bank today, remittances in Nepal have increased by 19.2 percent to 1.198 billion 60 million rupees.
In the same period of the previous year, remittances had increased by 23.4 percent. In US dollars, remittances have increased by 17.1 percent to 9 billion 20 million rupees. The previous year, it had increased by 13.4 percent.
As of Baisakh, the number of Nepalis who have obtained final labor permits (institutional and individual-new) for foreign employment is 374,887 and the number of those who have obtained re-labor permits is 237,893. In the same period of the previous year, it was 421,279 and 238,976, respectively.
Net transfers increased by 17.2 percent to 1.3 trillion 1.72 billion during this period. Such transfers had increased by 22.5 percent in the same period of the previous year.
