Kathmandu. The Communist Party of Nepal (Unified Socialist) has urged the government to immediately pass the Education Act and address the legitimate demands raised by teachers through talks and dialogue as soon as possible.
The party has expressed solidarity with the teachers’ movement and demanded that the legitimate demands of the education sector be fulfilled and the agreements reached with the government be implemented. “This movement has disrupted the educational sector, teaching and learning has been suspended, and the examination of SEE answer sheets has been affected. This is a very serious issue for the state. Our party wants to express solidarity with this movement of teachers,” said a statement issued by the party’s Deputy General Secretary Ram Kumar Bhattarai on Sunday.
Under the leadership of the Nepal Teachers’ Federation, teachers and school employees across the country have been protesting at Maitighar in Kathmandu since Chaitra 20, demanding the issuance of a quality school education and a student- and teacher-employee-friendly school education act.
