National Vigilance Centre submits annual report to PM

Kathmandu. Kathmandu: The National Vigilance Centre has presented its annual report for the fiscal year 2080/81 BS to Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli today. Centre Secretary Sarju Kumar Baidya presented the report to Prime Minister Oli at a programme held at the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers, Singha Durbar.

On the occasion, Prime Minister Oli directed the government to work effectively accordingly as the present government has been formed with the main responsibility of good governance and development. Stressing the need for the Centre to be more active in the matter of regular reporting and following the directives as it was under the office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers, he said that corruption was a hindrance to development and good governance.

According to the report, the Centre has been carrying out regulation and monitoring to make the delivery of services provided by the public bodies effective in order to end corruption and maintain good governance as per the goals of the 16th Plan. If any irregularity is found during the monitoring, the Center sends a letter to the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority for action. Chief Secretary of the Government of Nepal Ek Narayan Aryal and other high officials were present on the occasion.
