Kathmandu. Kathmandu: The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority (NDRMA) has approved the National Action Plan for Monsoon Response. A meeting of the NRA held at Singha Durbar on Wednesday approved the National Action Plan for Monsoon Response.
Talking to media persons after the meeting, NEA Executive Chief Engineer Dinesh Prasad Bhatta said that a response plan was prepared and presented in the meeting as monsoon-related disasters are likely to increase this year and the meeting has passed it.
He said the Nepal Army under the leadership of the Ministry of Urban Development has decided to remove the obstructions in chobhar by taking lessons from the inundation that was blocked due to last year’s floods.
“The monsoon is coming soon. This year, there is more monsoon. There is a plan to respond during the monsoon, that national action plan has been submitted. That national action plan has been passed. The Nepal Army, led by the Ministry of Urban Development, decided to remove the obstructions caused by last year’s floods. The monsoon response action plan should be prepared and implemented quickly. We had to move forward accordingly. ’
He said the monsoon response action plan has now been implemented.
