‘In the first phase, we want to make one-way traffic easy, we have given priority to this, and work on the second part is also being done in parallel,’ said Information Officer Khanal. The work on the road expansion project was carried out with an agreement reached in Magh 2075 BS and is scheduled to be completed in Shrawan 2079 BS. The work has been started by dividing the total 113 kilometers of the Narayangadh-Butwal road into two sections.

After the work was not completed within the stipulated time, the deadline was extended for the second time to Shrawan 2081 BS. After the work was not completed during that period as well, the deadline has been extended for the third time to Shrawan 2082 BS. Out of the 113 kilometers of the road, 70 kilometers will have four lanes and 29 kilometers will have four lanes with a 6-6 meter service lane on both sides. The 14-kilometer road in Daunne will be three-lane.
