Kathmandu. Minister for Physical Infrastructure and Transport Devendra Dahal has inspected the Nagdhunga-Sisnekhola tunnel. On Sunday, Minister Dahal along with high-level officials, including the secretary of the Ministry, monitored and inspected the under-construction tunnel.
Talking to media persons on the occasion, Minister Dahal said the Nagdhunga-Sisnekhola tunnel is a matter of Pride of Nepal and the sub-operation work of the tunnel, which is ready to come into operation after a long wait, would be started from October 15.
Minister Dahal shared that work was underway to bring the tunnel into full operation from January 1, 2026.
Minister Dahal said, “Nagdhunga-Sisnekhola tunnel is a matter of pride for Nepal. It is preparing to come into operation after a long wait. Work is still going on. We will start the work of general sub-operation from October 15. Civil work can be done on October 25. It will be handed over to us after the work is over. We have said that it will be fully started from January 1 next year. But before that, we work to make it fully operational by making it a demo for the operation of the tunnel way. ’
Minister Dahal has claimed that the tunnel era of Nepal will begin with the Nagdhunga-Sisnekhola tunnel.
