Kathmandu. Nabil Bank has distributed blankets to the earthquake victims of Jajarkot and Rukum West. The blankets were distributed to families living in 96 temporary shelters constructed by the bank in Jajarkot and Rukum West after the earthquake.
The bank organized a program and distributed blankets on Magh 1 in the presence of Ward Chairman of Nalgad-1, Dhan Bahadur Mahar, and on Magh 2 in the presence of Ward Chairman of Chaurjahari-1, Indre Giri. Nabil Bank Senior Deputy Chief Executive Officer Manoj Gyawali said that blankets were distributed keeping in mind the health problems that may arise especially among the elderly, children and pregnant women who have to spend the winter in temporary housing.
The bank, in partnership with the local government, had constructed 47 temporary housing units in Nalgad Municipality-1 of Jajarkot and 49 temporary housing units for earthquake victims in Chaurjahari Municipality-1 of Rukum West under its corporate social responsibility. The bank has stated that this time blankets were distributed to families living in the same temporary accommodation.
On that occasion, Mahar, Chairman of Nalgad-1, and Giri, Chairman of Chaurjahari-1, thanked Nabil Bank for providing a safe place to shelter for the earthquake victims and for providing relief by distributing blankets to protect them from the cold this year. On 17 Kartik 2080 BS, a 6.4 Richter scale earthquake occurred with the epicenter at Ramidanda, Barekot Rural Municipality-1, Jajarkot, causing great damage in Jajarkot and Rukum West.
Nabil Bank has been carrying out various social works with the aim of bringing positive changes in the society under its social responsibility.
