Galeshwor. The upgrading of the seven-kilometer rural road connecting Bhakimli and Barangja via Handebhir-Bagarphant has begun after 18 years.

It has become easier to transport agricultural produce produced in Ward No. 3 Bhakimli and Ward No. 4 Baskuna of Beni Municipality as well as Ward No. 2 and 3 of Mangala Rural Municipality to Beni and to bring food, construction materials and other consumer goods from Beni to the village.

A three-kilometer gravel road of the Bagarphant-Dudhekhola section and a 390-meter road slope from Dudhekhola to Bhakimli have been constructed under the said road. Sub-Engineer Rabin Chokhal of the Infrastructure Development Office said that the section was upgraded at a cost of Rs 20 million by the Gandaki Province Government.

The aim is to extend this road to residents of Ward No. 2 Bagarphant of Beni Municipality, Ward No. 3 Bhakimli, Ward No. 3 and 4 of Mangala Rural Municipality, and Soledanda of Okharbot of Malika Rural Municipality-5 of West Myagdi, to Taman and Lamela of Baglung, he informed.

Under this plan, the two and a half kilometer road from Bagarphant to Dudhekhola will be widened by eight meters and upgraded with gravel, and a 390 meter slope will be made in the section connecting Dudhekhola to Bhakimli.
