Damauli. The second phase of blacktopping has begun in the Bagbazar section of Damauli Bazaar, the district headquarters of Tanahun, under the Muglin Pokhara Road Extension. After the first phase of blacktopping was completed at the same place some time ago, the second phase of blacktopping has begun from Friday.

The first phase of blacktopping has been completed at the main intersection, Safasadak intersection, and Tarkari Line intersection of Damauli Bazaar. Bishnu Prasad Pandey, engineer of the Muglin Pokhara Road Project Eastern Section, informed that one-way blacktopping work is currently underway in Damauli Bazaar. Although the blacktopping work in other places in the eastern section has reached the final stage, the work was delayed due to the delay in removing the houses and huts in the Damauli section.

The project has stated that the work of this section is 82.95 percent complete. The final blacktop has been completed for 33.56 kilometers on the four-lane side and 3.2 kilometers on the two-lane side. He said, “So far, the blacktopped section has been blacktopped for two lanes, totaling 73.11 kilometers.” The agreement was signed on Magh 17, 2077 BS and work began on Baisakh 2, 2078 BS. The contract for the eastern section has been awarded to China Communication Construction.

The road is being made into a four-lane road with the help of a loan from the Asian Development Bank (ADB) after the traffic volume on the road marked out in 2026 BS increased. The contract for the eastern section is worth Rs. 6.21 billion, 3.13 million.
