Damauli. Blacktopping is being done in Damauli Bazaar under the Muglin-Pokhara road expansion. Blacktopping is being done from Bagbazar, Main Chowk, Safasadak Chowk to Vegetable Line in Byas Municipality-2.
Bishnu Prasad Pandey, Engineer of Muglin-Pokhara Road Project (Eastern Section), informed that work is being done to complete the blacktopping in the Damauli section within the current fiscal year. One-way blacktopping was done on the Main Chowk on Thursday. Blacktopping was done on the Bagbazar section on Wednesday. Blacktopping will also be done soon from Durga Mandir to Chapaghat.
Blacktopping work was stopped due to delays in removing houses and huts in other places under the eastern section. Now only four kilometers remain to be blacktopped. 82.5 percent of the road work under the eastern section has been completed. Under the first phase of this section, a four-lane road has been blacktopped in a 38.31-kilometer section and a two-lane road has been blacktopped in a 0.29-kilometer section.
