MP Rai urged the government to understand the wishes of the locals and resolve the problem through consensus and expressed the view that infrastructure should not be built by destroying the traditions, natural and cultural importance of the religious site. She drew the government’s attention to the state’s responsibility to provide roads, drinking water, education, toilets, rest areas, and marketing of local produce as per the demands of the community rather than concrete structures at religious sites.

Renu Chand, a member of the Nepal Communist Party (Maoist Center), drew the government’s attention to the issue of the construction of a cable car in the Pathibhara area, a religious and cultural hub of the indigenous people, which has been a source of unrest for some time. She commented on the administration’s repression of the protesting locals and demanded free treatment and compensation for the injured in the protest.

MP Chand accused the protesting citizens of being oppressed in the name of security in the Pathibhara area and urged them to stop the work immediately. She also expressed the view that the issue of building a cable car in Pathibhara is not suitable from a spiritual, economic, environmental and development perspective. She said that this violates the fundamental rights of the locals and increases the risk of destroying their identity, social and traditional values and norms.

In today’s meeting, Nepali Congress MP Jitjung Basnet said that the confidentiality provisions in Section 3 of the Oath Act 2079 were not followed. He said that some confidential details and information from when he was in office were found to be written and spoken after he was no longer in office, which shows that the law was not followed.

MP Basnet drew the government’s attention through the House to the practice of writing exaggerated autobiographies in Nepal as soon as he was relieved of his post. He demanded that the oath-related law be effectively implemented in Nepal as well.

Maya Prasad Sharma, a member of the Nepal Communist Party (Maoist Center), said that even after a long time since the Jajarkot earthquake, the safe rehabilitation and relief work has not been completed, drawing the government’s attention to the problems of those affected by the earthquake due to the delay in this. He pointed out the need for adequate discussions while formulating delegated legislation acts and rules and laws.

Bhuwan Bahadur Sunar, a member of the Nepal Communist Party (Maoist Center), emphasized that the police administration should not cause trouble and support young people from the Dalit community when they get married. He drew the government’s attention to the issue of suffering and stress from the administration due to the inter-caste marriage of Satendra Ram and Neha Rauniyar of Sarlahi.

Congress MP Durga Kumari Gurung drew the government’s attention to the problems of the people of Karnali Province, including the fact that although it is rich in natural and historical heritage, language and culture, it is deprived of basic medical treatment, malnutrition, and access to drinking water and electricity. She urged the government to solve the problems of the people of Karnali through the necessary budget and programs.

Tulsa Kumari Dahal, Chairperson of the Legislative Management Committee under the National Assembly, said that the current government has brought the ordinance by exercising the authority granted by the constitution, as has been the practice of all governments in the past to bring ordinances and work. She said that it is important for the current government to bring an ordinance to work quickly, and that the opposition should provide positive support as ordinances are necessary to implement the constitution and make some laws.

President Dahal emphasized that since the current government was formed by two major parties to develop the country and work in favor of the people, cooperation and coordination should be done to work positively and result-orientedly rather than commenting on the government. She said that the current government has amended the Transitional Justice Act and drew the government’s attention to the issue of appointing officials to the two commissions.
