Kathmandu. Nepali Congress MP Jeevan Pariyar has proposed to summon former King Gyanendra Shah to a parliamentary committee to inquire into the violent incident in Tinkune. Speaking at the Law, Justice and Human Rights Committee meeting held at Singha Durbar on Friday, MP Pariyar made this proposal.

He said that former King Shah should be summoned to the committee and asked about his involvement in the violent incident in Tinkune. He commented that the welcome given by the citizens to former King Shah on his return from Pokhara on Falgun 25 was not necessary and said that former King Shah should be questioned about the Tinkune incident by saying, ‘Can you do such an incident as a citizen?’

He said, ‘We are discussing human rights violations in the Law, Justice and Human Rights Committee. Was the welcome given by the people to former King Gyanendra, who is now a common citizen, necessary or not? And whether he was involved in the incident on Falgun 25 or not? Various opinions have started coming out about it. Mr. Chairman, let us call former King Gyanendra Shah to this committee to talk about this issue. Let us call him to this committee and ask him. Is this an incident of human rights violation or not? Did you do it or not? Do you as a citizen get to do such an incident? This needs to be discussed.’

He drew the government’s attention to the fact that no one has the right to create any kind of inhumane and anarchy in the country.
