Kathmandu. Nepali Congress MP Ramhari Khatiwada has objected to the use of the words ‘Shri 5 Maharajdhiraj’ and the royal seal in the video message released by former King Gyanendra Shah on Falgun 6. Speaking in the House of Representatives meeting on Thursday, MP Khatiwada objected to the former king’s insulting of the Nepali flag and violating the constitution.

He also drew the government’s attention to stop anti-constitutional steps, saying that the Nepalese flag was replaced with the royal seal in 2065 BS and that the word ‘Shri 5 Maharajdhiraj’ does not exist in the constitution.

He said, ‘In the video message released by former King Gyanendra on Falgun 6, it was seen that he mentioned ‘Shri 5 Maharajdhiraj’ and used the royal seal. This royal target flag was removed on 17th Jestha 2065 BS and the national flag was placed there, and there is no mention of His Majesty the King anywhere in the Constitution of Nepal. Therefore, I strongly object to the use of the name His Majesty the King and the use of the royal target flag in such a message, and I urge you not to violate the constitution by doing such things.’

He also drew the attention of the government to pay attention to the implementation of the law that the law is equal for all.
