Kathmandu. CPN (Unified Socialist) MP Prakash Jwala has said that a living example of misgovernance is visible at the gate of Singha Durbar. He made this statement while speaking at the House of Representatives meeting held on Wednesday.
He said that irregularities, chaos and misrule are rampant in the country, and a living example of this is seen at the gate of Singha Durbar.
He drew the government’s attention to the crowd and line of people at the south gate of Singha Durbar where ministers, MPs and employees enter, warning that it would not be acceptable to pile ministries inside Singha Durbar, surround them with walls and iron gates on all sides, make them like prisons, and prohibit the entry of the public.
He demanded an end to the situation where citizens have to sweat in the scorching sun to get a gate pass. .
He said, ‘At this time, irregularities, chaos, and misrule are rampant in the country. There is laxity and open bribery in government offices. What kind of transparency is the government trying to teach by keeping the assets of the Prime Minister and ministers secret? The assets of the Prime Minister and ministers should be made public immediately. The biggest problem at the moment is misrule. A living example of misrule is seen at the gate of Singha Durbar. I draw the government’s attention to the crowd and line of people at the south gate where ministers, MPs, and employees enter. It is unacceptable to cram as many ministries into Singha Durbar, surround Singha Durbar with 4 walls and an iron gate, make it like a prison, and prohibit the entry of people. Ministers enter vehicles with black glass, and people have to sweat in the sun and wait outside the gate for passes. This situation should be put to an end.’
He questioned what kind of transparency the government is trying to teach by keeping the assets of the Prime Minister and ministers secret, and demanded that the asset details be made public immediately.
