Kathmandu. MP Pashupati Shumsher Jabra has urged to improve the country’s economy by increasing electricity production.

During today’s special session of the House of Representatives, MP Jabra suggested that electricity production should be increased to improve the economy, noting that the country’s revenue cannot even cover basic expenses and that the country’s economy is supported by ‘remittances’ sent by youth from abroad.

‘The country’s economy should be improved by increasing production and exporting electricity. It is necessary to attract domestic and foreign investors to increase electricity production,’ he said. ‘According to the agreements reached so far, an agreement has been reached to sell 10,000 megawatts of electricity to India. The House should be informed about where the remaining electricity will be exported.’

MPs Metmani Chaudhary and Birendra Prasad Mahato demanded that the government implement the agreements made with teachers in the past. They stressed that cumbersome provisions should be removed to create an investment environment for investors.

MP Ram Prakash Chaudhary demanded that the government prioritize the construction of a bridge over the river between Janakpur and Birgunj in the budget for the upcoming fiscal year due to lack of budget.

MP Prem Suwal said that agreements with teachers were made but there was a problem due to lack of implementation. “When making an agreement, we should first consider the financial burden on the country,” he said. MP Suwal also demanded that the problems of cooperative victims be resolved.
